Maths, English and Science Tuition
We specialise in the core subjects that form the foundation of your child’s education: maths, English, and science. These subjects are key to long-term success in school and beyond. Whether your child is in Key Stage 1 or preparing for GCSEs, we provide targeted support that builds both skill and confidence. In maths, we cover everything from basic number work to complex problem-solving and exam strategies. In English, we focus on reading comprehension, writing skills, grammar and vocabulary.
Our science tuition covers Biology, Chemistry and Physics, taught in a way that makes sense and sticks. All lessons are based on the national curriculum and are adapted to suit each child’s individual needs and pace. Every session is led by qualified, DBS-checked tutors who are passionate about helping children succeed. Whether your child needs help with the basics or wants to stretch ahead, we’re here to support their journey every step of the way.

Tuition for Ages 5–16
We work with students from Reception right through to Year 11, offering support at every stage of their school journey. For younger learners, we focus on developing strong foundations in phonics, spelling, number skills and reading – building the confidence they need to thrive in the classroom. As children progress through primary school, we help them prepare for SATs, 11+ and the transition to secondary education. In Key Stage 3 and GCSE years, our focus shifts to subject mastery, exam technique and revision planning. Every child follows their own personalised learning plan, so we can support a wide range of needs – from those who are struggling to those who want to push for higher grades. Our flexible, small group approach means students get the right support at the right level. Whether your child needs a confidence boost or expert exam preparation, our tuition is designed to help them grow and succeed.

Personalised Support in Small Groups
Every child at Stafford Tuition Centre learns through a tailored programme designed just for them. We don’t use generic worksheets or one-size-fits-all lessons. After a free assessment, we create a learning plan that targets the areas your child needs most help with. This plan is followed in small group sessions, where each student works on their own tasks, with one-to-one guidance from the tutor throughout. Our small group sizes (maximum 4 per tutor) mean every child gets individual support, while still enjoying the motivation and energy of learning alongside others.
Tutors rotate between students to check understanding, explain concepts and offer encouragement. This setup creates a calm, focused environment where students can concentrate, ask questions and grow in confidence. It also helps children develop independent learning habits, which serve them well at school and beyond. We believe real progress happens when learning is personal – and that’s exactly what we provide.
Free Initial Assessment
Before starting tuition, every child takes part in a free, no-obligation assessment. This gives us a clear picture of their current ability, learning gaps and strengths, so we can create a plan that’s right for them. It also gives parents the chance to ask questions and see how we work. The assessment is carried out in a friendly, relaxed environment and usually takes around 45–60 minutes. There’s no pressure or pass/fail – just helpful insight. Once complete, we’ll give you honest feedback and, if you choose to go ahead, build a personalised programme to suit your child’s needs. This careful, thoughtful start is one of the reasons our tuition works so well. It means we’re not guessing – we’re teaching exactly what your child needs, from day one. And because we’re independent, we’ll always give you clear advice and recommendations, without any pressure or hard sell.

For science, we help students develop a solid understanding of Biology, Chemistry and Physics in line with their schoolwork and exams. Yes, we offer tuition for students aged 5 to 16, which includes both primary and secondary school support. For primary-aged children (Reception to Year 6), we focus on developing strong foundations in reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and number skills. We also help with KS1 and KS2 SATs preparation and build key skills for a smooth transition to secondary school. For secondary students (Years 7 to 11), we support learning across Key Stage 3 and GCSE, with a focus on subject mastery, revision techniques, and exam preparation. We also help students build confidence in subjects they may find challenging, making sure they don’t fall behind during those critical school years. Every student works on their own personalised learning plan, based on a free initial assessment. Whether your child is in Year 2 or Year 11, we tailor our tuition to help them feel more confident and capable in their learning.
Each tuition session takes place in a small group, with a maximum of four students per tutor. Despite the group setting, every student works on their own individual learning plan, so lessons are completely tailored to their needs. At the start of the session, the tutor will check in with each student and set specific tasks based on their plan. As the session progresses, the tutor moves between students, offering one-to-one help, checking understanding and answering questions. The atmosphere is calm and focused, and students are encouraged to work at their own pace without pressure. This small group format allows for plenty of individual attention, but also helps students stay motivated and engaged. Sessions typically last one hour and twenty minutes and cover key skills in maths, English or science, depending on your child’s needs. Every session is carefully structured to build confidence and make steady, lasting progress.
We believe communication with parents is a vital part of what we do. After your child’s free assessment, we’ll provide a clear picture of their current level and learning needs. From there, we create a personalised plan with specific goals. During each session, tutors monitor progress closely, making notes on what’s been achieved and what needs more work. We regularly review each child’s learning plan to make sure it stays relevant and challenging. Parents are kept in the loop through regular informal chats, written feedback, or scheduled updates – whichever works best for you. You’re always welcome to ask questions or check in with us at any time. Many parents tell us they feel more informed than ever about their child’s learning, and that they value the honest, down-to-earth advice we give. Our goal is to work in partnership with you to help your child succeed, every step of the way.
